Julia Dunko is a visual artist born in Belarus. Currently lives and works in Warsaw.
Her career as an artist began with painting. Feeling and reason are inextricably linked in her work. Reflecting on her work and modernizing it, she moved to a new metamodernist paradigm.
In her artwork she explores space: the past is the future, the future is the past, creating breathtaking abstract paintings that explore the possibilities of minimalist composition and create a new illusion of perception.
Each photo is built up in layers with a fine artistic relationship of shapes, of which she initially sketches on a graphics tablet. Her paintings are stunningly minimalist, with a sparse composition that captures the viewer's attention, with bright contrasting accents.
The contrast of the accent with the surrounding space creates a sense of depth and volume. Golden lines of gold and its shadows on a white background, which she performs in the sfumato technique.
This technique, which blends colors and creates soft, blurred edges, enhances the painting's ability to evoke a sense of space and distance, for warm memories of the past.
As Julia says, she uses white paint with gold for this. All this gives the product additional interest, mystery and delicacy, attracts the viewer's attention and involves him in the composition. The shimmering effect of gold gives the photo dynamism and creates a sense of movement and energy, adding an extra layer of elegance and sophistication to the composition.
Overall, the painting seems to reference both the past and the future, with elements that evoke a sense of timelessness and hint at the possibilities that lie ahead. The delicate and nuanced choice of color suggests a sense of fragility and ephemerality, while the contrasting emphasis and use of shadows and light give the painting a sense of energy and movement.
These are thought-provoking and captivating works of art that invite the viewer to contemplate both the beauty and complexity of the world around them. Her paintings are presented in online and offline galleries.
Julia participates in joint exhibitions and auctions in Europe and the CIS. The paintings are in private collections in Belarus, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Latin America.
