Kino Mistral was born in Milan, where he lived the first twenty years of his life on Corso Magenta, near the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, where Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper was on display.
He was impressed by the splendor and uniqueness of this masterpiece, which left its mark on the artist's visual and cultural formation.
He attended the Leonardo da Vinci School of Science and then the Faculty of Architecture. At the same time, he devoted himself to painting and experimented with kinetic art and sculpture.
He was passionate about ethnic sculpture and exotic art, to which he also devoted himself during his travels to acquire knowledge and study in many parts of the world: in Central and South America, in the Sahara and Equatorial Africa, in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, where he studied the artistic expressions of different ethnic groups.
He then lived in New York for two years to learn more about the newer and more sophisticated design and artistic concepts that were developing at that time. It was here that he met Andy Wharol and Bob Rauschemberg.
Back in Italy, he married in Palermo, where he remained in love with the people and colors of Sicily.
He lives there most of the year, dividing the rest of his time between Milan and Tuscany.
He always thinks about art and always devotes himself to painting.
He has been an interior designer for many years and has designed 300 villas, houses, banks and public spaces in Milan, Sicily and Tuscany.
Art critics acknowledge that these years of experience at the drawing board contributed greatly to the development of his very personal painting and to the geometric precision of the meticulous finish of his paintings.
From the 90s to the present day he has received several awards and participated in numerous art events throughout Italy, including:
His works have also been acquired abroad, such as:
