Leo Jacobs was born in Herentals in 1951.
Given his creative disposition, he immediately followed higher art education after his university studies, specializing in painting.
The evolution in Leo's works is pertinently present without being able to speak of a revolution.
Over the years, his works have often been described as "Action Painting", "Abstract Expressionism", "Lyrical Abstract", "Informal" and "Sympathetic".
Due to his continuous search for innovation, both artistically and technically, he has left painting on a stretched canvas behind him and now paints exclusively on Al-Dibond panels.
Here one could speak of a trend break/revolution in his artistic work.
The layered construction of abstract, lyrical fields and fine color structures creates a depth in the painting that often gives a landscape connotation.
